Covid-19 Relief – CA Governor Signed an Executive Order To Delay Eviction Suspensions and Foreclosures

March 28th, 2020

Statewide:

Governor Newsom from California signed an Executive Order that authorizes (does not command them to but allows for) regional governments to stop evictions for renters and homeowners and delay foreclosures for Californians affected by COVID-19. (The order does not relieve a tenant from the responsibility to pay rent, or restrict the landlord’s ability to recover rent that is due.) Eviction protections are in effect through May 31, 2020, unless stretched.
