The Mayor stated that the City of Chicago would be temporarily postponing debt collection practices and non-safety related citations and impounds, as well as fines for late payment. Maryland requires companies with 15 or more workers to provide paid sick and safe leave, and companies who employ 14 or fewer employees provide unpaid sick and safe leave. A worker gathers earned sick and safe leave at a rate of at least one hour for every 30 hours the employee works, up to 40 hours of earned sick and safe leave in a year.
